When Mac’s Floral, aka my sister Katie, asked me if I was available to shoot an upcoming summer wedding in Red Lodge, I jumped at the chance to collaborate with her. You might think with her being a florist and me being a photographer in the wedding industry we are an obvious package deal and get to work together all the time. In fact, we rarely get to work together because most of the time the couple has already chosen their ideal vendor before we can refer one another. So when Katie told me that Sarah & Jacob were still looking for a photographer, I gleefully accepted.
There’s this special thing that happens when my sister and I get to collaborate on an event or project. I know how she wants her arrangements presented in photographs and she knows what angles and details I look for. The floral altar that my sister, Mac’s Floral, created was definitely a standout piece. Covered in summery pastels and greens, it had such a romantic feel. We are very in tune with each other’s creative styles. When we get to work together, we are not only helping to create memorable moments and a special day for the couple, we get to spend time together doing what we love most and come away with our own memories and highlights.
